Science Policy Fellows
Science Policy Fellowship - Health system performance assessment and comparison: an agenda for policy
The European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies (Observatory) is an international partnership hosted by WHO that supports and promotes evidence-based health policy-making through comprehensive and rigorous analysis of the dynamics of health systems in Europe and by engaging directly with policy-makers (1). A more detailed overview of the Observatory is at Annex 1 which is available by contacting ltaylor.ihspr@mcgill.ca or szy@obs.euro.who.int.
The Observatory in collaboration with the CIHR Institute of Health Services and Policy Research will host a Science Policy Fellowship. This will allow a Canadian investigator to work with the Observatory to support European policy development in an area of relevance to Canada. The fellowship will provide an opportunity to engage with the Observatory’s policy research and knowledge brokering; garner policy relevant experience; support a significant and timely project; and foster sustained research to policy links and stronger networks between Canada and Europe. The Observatory welcomes investigators from the post-doctoral to senior level.
(1) The Observatory’s Partners are the WHO European Regional Office for Europe, the Governments of Belgium, Ireland, Finland, the Netherlands, Norway, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and the Veneto Region of Italy, the European Commission, European Investment Bank, World Bank, Union nationale des caisses d’assurance maladie of France (UNCAM), the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). The Observatory is hosted by WHO and has hubs in Berlin, Brussels and London.
