From 2016 to 2017, the German Federal Centre for Health Education (BZgA) and the International Planned Parenthood Federation European Network (IPPF EN) extensively surveyed 25 WHO Member States in Europe and central Asia, regarding the development and current status of sexuality education in their countries. The survey covered a variety of topics including laws and policies related to sexuality education, opposition to the subject and youth-friendly services. This document explores the situations in the 25 countries, and provides 3 main recommendations on international knowledge sharing, improving the quality of sexuality education and making sexuality education available inside and outside of school for young people.
