This issue of WHO EpiBrief provides an overview of selected epidemiological characteristics of measles and rubella in the WHO European Region from January to June 2013. It also reports on the detection of wild poliovirus 1 in sewage in Israel, including measures taken to prevent an outbreak and stop environmental  spread of the virus.
