Fact sheet on the SDGs: Measles and rubella (2017)
Measles and rubella infections, with potentially serious complications, are preventable through immunization. While all countries in the WHO European Region include highly effective and safe measles and rubella vaccines in their vaccination programmes, outbreaks of measles and rubella continue to occur due to persistent gaps in immunization coverage. This fact sheet includes facts and figures, outlines the challenges, charts indicators of progress and shares commitments made by Member States to tackle this issue.
