Fact sheet on the SDGs: Tuberculosis (2017)
Tuberculosis (TB) is among the top 10 causes of death worldwide. Yet TB can be prevented, and it can be cured. Thanks to the combined efforts of agencies and governments in diagnosis and treatment, TB incidence and mortality in the WHO European Region has shown the fastest decline in the world. However, with the rise of multidrug- and extensively drug-resistant forms of TB, there is no time to lose. This fact sheet provides facts and figures, an overview of the issues, commitments, and areas of intervention.
