Slovenia
The WHO Country Office, Slovenia was re-established in February 2007 in Ljubljana to design and deliver WHO programmes in consultation with the Slovene authorities. The priorities for the Country Office are set out in the biennial collaborative agreement between WHO/Europe and Slovenia. The Office implements the agreement in close collaboration with the Ministry of Health, national institutions and international partner agencies.

Turning the tide: Slovenia’s success story of fighting cervical cancer
Slovenia has come a long way to become one of the most successful countries in the WHO European Region in the fight against cervical cancer. From having had one of the worst statistics in Europe on cervical cancer incidence, Slovenia has managed to turn the tide thanks to political will, cooperation and a robust screening programme.
