Reaching those most at risk: tackling HIV in Azerbaijan

The HIV epidemic in Europe is still not under control and most new infections are in the eastern part of the region. Over 2 700 people are registered with the infection in Azerbaijan, but estimates indicate that the actual figure is around 3 600.

Many people from the government-run centre, local NGOs and people living with HIV, the WHO country office, and representatives of key populations at highest risk of HIV work to provide HIV prevention, treatment and care in Azerbaijan. In a series of interviews, those involved explain what they do and why.
