Czech Republic resolves to survey adverse childhood experiences and endorses Action for Road Safety
The Czech Republic Intersectoral Steering Committee met at the Ministry of Health on 29 May. The meeting was opened by Dr Ferdinand Polak, Deputy Minister for Health Care. In attendance were about 35 officials representing the transport, justice and health sectors and NGOs. The content of the biennial collaborative agreement between WHO and the Ministry of Health was presented by Dr Alena Steflova, the Head of Country Office. The committee agreed to endorse the conduct of an adverse childhood experiences survey and chose to appoint a scientific steering committee. The Ministry of Transport Road Safety Unit presented the actions for the Decade of Action for Road Safety and the Plan for the Decade which aims to achieve a 50% reduction in deaths on the roads by 2020. Participants agreed to work together to achieve these goals.
