Intersectoral work in focus of collaboration between WHO/Europe and Georgia for the years to come
Dr Marijan Ivanuša, WHO Representative and Head of WHO Country Office in Georgia, has presented his credentials to HE Mikheil Janelidze, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.
During the meeting the Minister and the WR discussed close cooperation between Georgia and the World Health Organization. Discussions focused on the ongoing projects in the health sector in the Georgia, the country's steps forward and the role of the WHO/Europe.
Dr Ivanuša positioned health as an area of investment that is crucial for the economic development and overall progress of the country. He also pointed to the importance of the intersectoral work that is needed to address multifaceted challenges if we want to achieve better health for everyone and decrease health inequalities.
Mikheil Janelidze welcomed the appointment of the WHO Representative and expressed hope that the existing cooperation between Georgia and the WHO will be further deepened.
