New WHO Collaborating Centre on Human Resources for Health Development

The Health Services Management Training Centre (HSMTC) at Semmelweis University in Hungary was recently designated as the WHO Collaborating Centre on Human Resources for Health Development. The official ceremony took place on 18 March 2016 and on behalf of WHO/Europe, Dr Zsofia Pusztai, Head of the WHO Country Office in Hungary, presented the designation letter to Professor Ágoston Szél, Rector of Semmelweis University.

Dr Pusztai emphasized that this designation demonstrates WHO's recognition of HSMTC for its scientific work in human resources for health and its close collaboration with WHO/Europe in this area.

Dr Miklós Szócska, Director of HSMTC and Head of the designated centre, said the WHO Collaborating Centre will support WHO regional and global initiatives in health workforce development.
