Key events in 2013

  • An autumn school will build the capacity of policy-makers and researchers to collect data, information and evidence, and translate them into policy reports using their own data. The course will be developed using the WHO Evidence-Informed Policy Network (EVIPNet), which promotes the use of evidence in policy-making. The course is due to take place in Turkey during the first half of October.
  • A health information portal will provide a single entry point for health data, information, and support for monitoring and reporting, offering quick access to databases, projects and expert networks. It will provide an analysis of data from WHO/Europe databases and facilitate discussion fora. The portal will be launched in English and Russian at the end of 2013.
  • In February 2013, an expert group to develop indicators for Health 2020 targets met in Copenhagen, together with an expert group on well-being indicators. These groups will provide a short-list of indicators for consultation with Member States.
