Workshop on school health services and referrals reform. Kyiv, Ukraine, 8-11 February 2011
To provide a better response to the health and developmental needs of young people, WHO/Europe has been supporting the Ministry of Health of Ukraine in the reorganization of school health services.
In February 2011 two workshops were held on monitoring and evaluating school health services and building competencies of school health personnel.
Participants of the workshops aimed to:
- learn to review current national and international experience;
- increase their understanding of competency and standards development principles and their relevance to school health services;
- draft quality standards and indicators for reporting;
- develop action plans for next steps; and
- draft a proposal for a monitoring and evaluation framework, including the competencies, knowledge, skills and attitudes required of school health personnel to perform the new tasks.
