Dr Iveta Nagyova (Slovakia)
Dr Iveta Nagyova graduated with a master’s degree in clinical psychology from the Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, Slovakia in 1995, followed by a PhD in medical sciences from the University Medical Centre Groningen, University of Groningen, the Netherlands in 2005. She has received postgraduate training as member of Cohort 10 within the Oxford International Primary Care Research Leadership programme, University of Oxford, United Kingdom. She is currently Head of the Department of Social and Behavioural Medicine, Faculty of Medicine at Pavol Jozef Šafárik University and Executive Director of the Slovak Public Health Association. She is also the President of the Section on Chronic Diseases at European Public Health Association (EUPHA), a member of the EUPHA Executive Council, and Chair of the EUPHA Section Council.
Her research interests are in biobehavioural and psychosocial innovations in chronic condition control and management, non-pharmacological interventions, health behaviour change, and improvements in functional status and quality of life in patients with a chronic disease and their implications for integrated care. She has contributed to over 250 publications, of which over 70 are peer-reviewed international scientific articles.
She is actively involved in knowledge translation and much of her work involves inter-professional collaboration. She serves as an advisor to the WHO Country Office in Slovakia and the Slovak Ministry of Health.
Dr Iveta Nagyova joined the EACHR in 2018.
