The work of WHO in the area of e-health is supported by a number of collaborating centres, advisory groups, NGOs in official relations with WHO and other partners working to increase awareness and the use of e-health in the European Region.
European Commission – DG CONNECT
The European Commission Directorate General for communications Networks, Content and Technology (DG CONNECT) has a formal presence in the eHealth Network, collaborates with other DGs on e-health and supports international cooperation in leveraging digital technologies and services for healthy and independent living.
Health On the Net Foundation (HON)
HON advocates and guides the provision of reliable and useful health information provided online. A major focus is on ethical standards for quality health information, the appropriate and efficient use of the information and to prevent misleading and misinforming citizens who search for health information online.
World Bank
In efforts to support universal health coverage and the Sustainable Development Goals, the World Bank works in cooperation with governments and other partners, including WHO, to ensure quality, affordable health care for all.
