Munich Declaration: Nurses and Midwives: A force for health (2000)

The Second WHO Ministerial Conference on Nursing and Midwifery in Europe, held in Munich Germany, addressed the unique roles and contributions of Europe’s six million nurses and midwives in health development and health service delivery. In the Munich Declaration, the Ministers of Health of Member States in the WHO European Region urged relevant authorities to step up action to strengthen nursing and midwifery, and they expressed their own commitment to support this serious effort.
