The purpose of this survey was to investigate the situation of nursing and midwifery almost a decade after the Munich Declaration and to identify areas that need stronger international recognition and strategic development. It was used by WHO/Europe to obtain qualitative and quantitative data from the ministries of health and national nursing/midwifery associations throughout the WHO European Region.

The results of the survey will be published in a full report.
