The COVID-19 pandemic continues to disrupt access to, and utilization of, maternal and child health services. Children, adolescents and mothers are not getting the care they need; for some conditions, this may have life-long and sometimes life-threatening consequences.

The WHO Regional Office of Europe has worked intensively with five countries (‎Kazakhstan, the Netherlands, Romania, Tajikistan and the United Kingdom)‎ to document changes in health service delivery and disruptions, and to find ways to mitigate these unintended consequences. This meeting provided an opportunity to share experiences, identify trends and establish the scale of health service disruptions due to COVID-19.
