Meetings on pandemic preparedness

Member States in the European Region continue to improve and strengthen their preparedness for influenza pandemics and other health threats. To support this process, WHO/Europe regularly organizes inter-country meetings to facilitate sharing of best practice and discussion of different approaches to all hazard and pandemic preparedness, the coordination of preparedness activities, and how to map and assess risks to public health. 

WHO emphasizes the need for countries to finalize revision of their pandemic plans by building sustainable capacities for responding to any acute public health emergency and by fully implementing the core capacities under the International Health Regulations (2005).
