WHO/Europe partners with institutions, health professionals’ associations and civil society organizations, bilaterally and through networks and partnerships, to join forces to end tuberculosis (TB). It also provides secretariat functions for several TB regional networks.
ECDC is a key partner in the WHO European Region, co-managing the European Surveillance Network for TB.
ERS is a community of respiratory professionals, partnering with WHO/Europe on clinical activities.
KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation, based in the Netherlands, is dedicated to fighting TB worldwide and to strengthening health systems against TB.
TBEC is an advocacy network of civil society stakeholders working on TB response in the Region. TBEC is committed to raising awareness about TB and increasing the political will required to effectively control the disease.
In 2015, 11 countries in the Region signed an agreement with the Global Fund for the TB Regional Eastern Europe and Central Asia Project (TB-REP) on strengthening health systems for effective TB and drug-resistant TB control. The Centre for Health Policies and Studies (PAS Centre) is currently implementing the project in collaboration with WHO/Europe.
