WHO meeting for a strategic action plan to eliminate soil-transmitted helminths (STH) in children in Europe

17–18 December 2012, Bonn, Germany

The meeting’s objectives were:

• to report on burden-assessment results and share experience with STH control and prevention;
• to review existing STH programmes and identify problems encountered in participating countries;
• to outline a strategic framework for control and prevention of STH in children; and
• to streamline mechanisms for more effective action with partners (through coordination of activities, regular exchange of information and involving more partners) and to stimulate the allocation of additional resources for STH elimination at the subregional and country levels.
