WHO outlined the basic principles of IVM in the “Global strategic framework for integrated vector management” in 2004, and issued a position statement in 2008 to help promote the concept as a component in vector-borne-disease control.

In May 2012, WHO/Europe published an “Operational framework on IVM” in Russian.
