The half-day conference was organized by the World Health Organization Regional Office for Europe in joint collaboration with the European Commission, Alcohol & Society and the Danish European Union Presidency represented by the National Board of Health. The new WHO Regional Office for Europe publication Alcohol in the European Union. Consumption, harm and policy approaches, which was co-sponsored by the EC, was launched at the conference.
