Resource package for planning healthy and sustainable meetings

WHO

Meetings and events are a fundamental part of the work and workplace culture at the WHO Regional Office for Europe, as well as many workplaces globally. They often represent a significant portion of the working week, in some cases lasting several hours or even a few days, and can therefore have a direct impact on the health of their participants and on the environment.

Making healthy foods and beverages available, requiring a tobacco-free environment, encouraging physical activity, and focusing on sustainability at meetings can all help to create a culture of health and well-being while minimizing negative environmental impacts.

A resource package in English and Russian has been created to provide guidance on planning healthy and sustainable meetings. It includes:

  • A complete guide to planning healthy and sustainable meetings;
  • A fact sheet with quick tips on planning healthy and sustainable meetings;
  • Four 3–4-minute-long physical activity videos for guiding active breaks during meetings, to be played when a facilitator is not available. All videos are available in English and Russian (including subtitles). For videos that do not include music, users are encouraged to personalize the experience with their own song choices.
