Seventh annual meeting and third conference of HEPA Europe. Amsterdam, Netherlands, 12-13 October 2011

The seventh annual meeting of HEPA Europe included parallel sessions of seven HEPA Europe working groups. At the annual meeting, participants discussed and adopted the activity report 2010/2011, the work programme 2011/2012 and amendments to the Terms of Reference of the Steering Committee of HEPA Europe. In addition, 8 new membership applications were confirmed. The results of the HEPA Europe survey carried out in 2010 were also presented. Finally, activities to be continued and future projects to be undertaken by HEPA Europe were discussed, including a new working group on active ageing. This meeting was supported by the European Union in the framework of the Health Programme 2008-2013 (Grant Agreement 2009 52 02).

Back-to-back with the annual meeting, the third HEPA Europe conference took place with a focus on linking science and practice in the field of health-enhancing physical activity and how to best join forces with other disciplines.
