The 21th meeting of the Steering Committee of HEPA Europe was convened to review first steps with implementation of the 2013/2014 work programme and to update on relevant international developments. In addition, the applications for membership received since the last meeting were assessed. Input was also given to the preparations of the 10th annual meeting and 5th conference in August 2014 in Zurich. Two applications to host the 11th annual meeting were assessed. In addition, next steps of the  communication and the funding strategies for HEPA Europe were presented. Furthermore, next steps with regard to the short- and medium-term funding were agreed.

The meeting was chaired by Tommi Vasankari, UKK Centre for Health Promotion Research, Finland, and attended by 10 members of the Steering Committee in person and by 2 members via Skype connection as well as by one WHO staff from the Regional Office for Europe. The meeting was kindly hosted by the WHO Regional Office for Europe, Environment and Health Governance and Multisectoral Partnerships, and assisted by the Institute of Social and Preventive Medicine of the University of Zurich.
