Phone conference of the HEPA Europe Steering Committee. Executive summary

This meeting of the Steering Committee of HEPA Europe was convened to review progress with implementation of the 2013/2014 work programme and to update on relevant international developments. In addition, the applications for membership received since the last meeting were assessed. Input was also given to the preparations of the 10th annual meeting and 5th conference in August 2014 in Zurich. A pending application to host the 11th annual meeting was also assessed. In addition, next steps of the communication and the funding strategies for HEPA Europe were presented. Furthermore, next steps with regard to the short- and medium-term funding were agreed.
 
The meeting was held as a phone conference, chaired by Tommi Vasankari, UKK Centre for Health Promotion Research, Finland, and Willem van Mechelen, Free University Medical Centre, the Netherlands, and attended by 9 members of the Steering Committee as well as by one WHO staff from the Regional Office for Europe. The phone conference was kindly prepared and assisted by the Institute of Social and Preventive Medicine of the University of Zurich.
