The National Institute for Health Development prepared a package for the members of Committee on Health Affairs of Parliament to present its recent activities and results. The package contains: 

  • Cigarette pack cases with the 9 (out of 42) picture warnings proposed by EU.
  • A public opinion survey based on the opinion of adults and children, which presents the 9 most effective picture warnings in Hungary, with the pictures themselves.
  • A document about the focus points of WNTD; 5 cherry puzzles and 5 cherry vignettes.
  • Hungarian translation of the WHO document on World No Tobacco Day

The pack cases became very popular among the members of the Committee. They accepted the amendment to be presented as a proposal in the House of Parliament, which prohibits smoking in restaurants serving cooked meals, underpasses, playgrounds etc.

In addition:

  • they produced a big poster with the 42 picture warnings proposed by EU to be presented on tobacco control occasions.
  • edited the Hungarian WNTD documents on our website.
  • Presented a summary about the World No Tobacco Day to the stakeholders.
  • Distributed news about the World No Tobacco Day to electronic media, on-line media and to the press.
  • Organized a Help-campaign to raise attention on public places.
