In the area of transport and health, WHO/Europe works in collaboration with a worldwide network of experts, institutions, United Nations agencies and the European Union, including the Directorates General for:

  • the Transport Health and Environment Pan-European Programme (THE PEP), a joint initiative of WHO/Europe and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), for which WHO provides secretariat services together with UNECE;
  • the European network for the promotion of health-enhancing physical activity (HEPA Europe), in which WHO is a member of the Steering Committee.
