Sustainable development and health: concepts, principles and framework for action for European cities and towns.

This is the first document in a series on sustainable development and health produced by the WHO Healthy Cities project within the framework of the European Sustainable Cities & Towns Campaign. It addresses the social, economic, health and environmental state of Europe’s cities and towns and outlines the concerns for future development. The major international frameworks are reviewed, with particular emphasis on health for all and Agenda 21.
