Partners

Broad dialogue and collaboration are prerequisites for realizing the cultural contexts of health (CCH) vision to enhance public health policy-making through a more nuanced understanding of how cultural factors affect perceptions of health and well-being. Our main partners include the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and WHO collaborating centres in the WHO European Region.

WHO Collaborating Centre for Culture and Health, University of Exeter

The WHO collaborating centres form part of an institutional collaborative network set up by WHO to support its technical work. They provide services to WHO at the country, regional and global levels, and are involved in technical cooperation for national health development. The European Region is fortunate to have a collaborating centre dedicated to cultural contexts of health and well-being.

WHO Collaborating Centre for Global Health Histories, University of York

The European Region also benefits from the support of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Global Health Histories. Since its designation in 2013, the collaborating centre has organized a number of Global Health Histories seminars and assisted in knowledge generation, policy evaluation, public engagement and staff training.

UNESCO’s section on intangible cultural heritage

OECD’s section on measuring well-being and progress

Measuring well-being and progress is a key priority that the OECD is pursuing as part of the Better Life Initiative through various streams of research and ongoing work.
