11th Annual International Conference of the Counselling in Prisons Network

4–5 July 2018, Durham University, United Kingdom

The theme of the 11th Annual International Conference of the Counselling in Prisons Network is “Promoting excellence in working therapeutically in the criminal justice system”. The Conference will focus on both the practice of and the evidence base for working therapeutically in the criminal justice system.

Participants will explore and debate the initial results of a rapid information-gathering exercise by the Independent Advisory Panel on Deaths in Custody. The 2-day programme also consists of presentations on research and practice, training workshops, and exhibitions, with plenty of time for networking events, including a Conference dinner on the evening of the first day.

The Conference will create a culture of debating evidence and deepening understanding of working and delivering therapy in the criminal justice system. It will provide an interactive space for inspiring, connecting and sharing ideas and solutions among diverse people from practice and academia.
