WHO/Health Behaviour of School-Age Children Forum
Health Behaviour in School-aged Children (HBSC) is a cross-national research study conducted by WHO/Europe and a growing number of Member States. The study aims to increase understanding of young people's health and well-being, health behaviours and their social context. In addition to conducting regular cross-national surveys, the WHO/HBSC collaboration includes an annual European consultation, production of case studies and background papers, and support provided to Member States in translating the findings of the studies into action.
Through the HBSC process, WHO/Europe supports the identification of best-practice interventions and health promotion activities to address the social and economic determinants of adolescent health, which can result in improvement of immediate and long-term health outcomes.
