Venice 2008. “Investment for Health: Integrating Health in All Policies”
The training course was organized in Venice, from 9 to 14 March 2008, by the University of Padua Medical School in collaboration with the Veneto Region, Yale University (USA), Bradford University (UK), the Medical University of Graz (Austria) the Local Health Unit (ULSS 12-Venice) and WHO Venice Office.
It aimed to provide an evidence-based, systematic and accountable approach to the full integration of social and economic determinants of health into development strategies of countries in the WHO European Region. In particular, the three main objectives of the Course were:
- to strengthen knowledge and understanding of social determinants of health;
- to provide a solid grounding in the emerging field of investment for health;
- to identify policies and strategies to reduce health inequities and reorient the efforts within the health sector.
