Malaria, neglected tropical diseases and other vector-borne diseases
In the context of One Health, WHO provides:
- technical guidance and policy options to Member States in need in relation to zoonotic diseases;
- supports the development/update and implementation of regional and national strategies/action plans related to the control and prevention of zoonotic diseases;
- assists Member States to develop and/or update national guidance and regulations on zoonosis in accordance with OIE/WHO normative guidance; and
- initiates/monitors data collection.
WHO, together with its tripartite partners, organizes regional/sub-regional meetings on zoonotic diseases aiming to: increase the awareness of zoonosis in participating countries; establish networks of specialists; promote and facilitate the sharing of data and best practices across countries; and identify gaps and challenges faced by countries in tackling zoonosis.
