Zoonotic influenza
Animal influenza viruses that cross the animal-human divide can cause disease, ranging from mild illness to death, in humans. WHO monitors these viruses and produces risk assessments at the human-animal interface. Using the One Health approach, WHO also conducts risk assessments and provides technical advice to Member States and the public on how to reduce risks of spill-over of animal influenza viruses to humans.
