AEIP represents social protection institutions, and advocates for social security and protection at the European level. Through its member institutions, AEIP deals with European Union (EU) coordinated pension schemes, health care and unemployment schemes, pension funds, local investments and paid holiday plans. It is an official member of a number of EU consultative groups including the European Commission’s Pension Forum and the EU Joint Action on Health Workforce Planning and Forecasting.
AIM is committed to health protection. As an umbrella organization, AIM represents its members’ interests and values in European and international Institutions, as well as forms a platform for members to exchange common issues. It provides health coverage through compulsory and/or complementary health insurance and manages health and social facilities.
EASPD is a nongovernmental organization within the disability sector representing social service provider organizations across Europe. It advocates for effective, high-quality and user-centred service systems to ensure equal opportunities for people with disabilities, as well as fair working conditions and life-long learning opportunities for people employed in services. The organization assists its partners by sharing its know-how and organizing various events within policy areas relevant to EASPD for network and knowledge-sharing purposes.
To encourage integration of practice with research, EFPA provides a platform for cooperation between member associations in a wide range of fields within academic training, psychology training and research in Europe. Through its member associations, EFPA works to promote and improve psychology both as a profession and as a discipline.
EFPT represents the consensus of psychiatric trainees’ organizations across Europe and advocates for widespread standard quality training. It supports the development of national trainees’ organizations, develops information on the current training of psychiatrists in Europe and assists in the implementation of best practice at local level to improve training standards.
EUFAMI is committed to improve care and welfare for people affected by mental illness and their families. Efforts involve promoting social inclusion through public campaigns; providing support to member associations to improve standards of treatment, care and quality of life of people affected by mental illnesses; and promoting further research on causes, management and treatment of mental illnesses.
GAMIAN-Europe represents the interests of people with mental health problems. The overall objective of the coalition is to advocate for patients’ rights and place mental health in the centre of the EU health care debate. Activities include providing information and educational support to member organizations including knowledge on good practice, forming active partnerships with stakeholders and supporting the development of patient-centred mental health policies.
Horatio represents the interest of psychiatric nurses in Europe and advocates for the development of psychiatric and mental health nursing practice, education, management and research. It arranges events and education for psychiatric nurses and fosters network opportunities between health professionals, organizations, charities and other groups with an interest in mental health care. Finally, Horatio contributes with information in the decision-making processes on issues relevant to psychiatric and mental health nursing in Europe.
MHE advocates for positive mental health and well-being as human rights. The main goal of the organization is to make mental health a priority on the European health and social agenda emphasizing the need for social inclusion and access to appropriate services and support for people with mental health problems.
The Foundation manages research and delivery programmes across the United Kingdom with the purpose of providing evidence- and experience-based interventions and information for people with mental health problems and learning disabilities and their carers.
Mieli, also referred to as FAMH, supports and promotes good mental health by encouraging interaction between individuals and community. The organization collects information on mental health for planning and decision-making purposes, develops and implements new models to provide help and assistance in crises, and assists partners in raising awareness on mental health issues. Moreover, Mieli trains volunteers and professionals and is responsible for organizing volunteer activities within Finnish societies.
Through public awareness campaigns and government lobbying, Mind provides advice and support to empower people experiencing mental health problems. Local Mind services include drop-in centres, employment and training schemes, supported housing, crisis helplines, counselling and befriending.
Picker Institute Europe is a charity that works with both providers and commissioners of mental health services to develop programmes that assess how people living with mental health problems experience care and help identify areas where quality of care may be improved. It further collaborates with various mental health organizations in terms of knowledge sharing to increase the understanding of, and access to, different care experiences.
