WHO Collaborating Centre (CC) objectives
- Support WHO in generating and disseminating good practices and evidence in mental health with a particular focus on depression and anxiety disorders in children and adolescents.
- Develop measures of quality control of e-health interventions for mental health in collaboration with WHO.
- Assist WHO in the delivery of good practices for comprehensive, integrated and responsive mental health services.
Contributions
The WHO CC focuses on the development of new treatment methods; drawing up guidelines and prevention programmes; detection and monitoring of psychological problems and addiction problems; and research and evaluation in regard to mental health and addiction care.
It informs policy-makers and professionals on the mental health of the Dutch population and is in charge of developing and setting up courses and training programmes for professionals in mental health care and addiction care. Moreover, the WHO CC provides information and organizes national prevention campaigns.
About the Trimbos Institute
This knowledge institute performs research into mental health, mental resilience and addiction. It is dedicated to actively apply knowledge and innovations to improve mental health in the Netherlands and abroad. The Institute is a centre of expertise on mental health and addiction.
Its activities are intended to contribute to and facilitate changes in mental health and addiction care in order to elicit individual health gains within the Dutch population, promote more effective treatment methods and provide models for more efficient care. The Institute implements the acquired knowledge in the practice of professionals in mental health care and addiction care.
