WHO/Europe headquarters closed due to flooding - update

The WHO/Europe headquarters in Copenhagen have been closed from Monday 16 August until further notice after parts of the office were flooded following heavy rainfall on Saturday. All staff members in Copenhagen have been asked to work from home for a second day, on Tuesday, 17 August.

As a result of the flooding, power supply, and telephone and e-mail services are disrupted. The main telephone numbers are being redirected and all operations will be resumed as soon as possible. Experts are currently assessing the safety of the buildings. Staff are requested to regularly check the Intranet and this web site for further updates.

Copenhagen received heavy rainfall Saturday evening, which caused flooding in the north-eastern part of the city where the WHO/Europe offices are located.
