European Development Days (EDD)

On 18 June 2019, WHO Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus will attend the 13th European Development Days (EDD) under the overarching theme “Addressing inequalities: building a world which leaves no one behind”. The European Development Days is an annual 2-day event organized by the European Commission, bringing together a large number of organizations from the development community.
During the event, Dr Tedros will speak at 2 events.

This high-level panel will reflect on the ways that inequalities in sexual and reproductive health and rights are linked to gender, economic and other inequalities and how this impacts human rights, as well as the possibility to realize stable, fair and inclusive societies and economic sustainability.
This session is co-organized by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the European Parliamentary Forum for Sexual and Reproductive Rights (EPF) and WHO.
Partnerships and innovation to overcome inequalities in health

This high-level panel session will explore the power of partnerships for health to ensure that no one is left behind. The Global Action Plan for Healthy Lives and Well-being for All, coordinated by WHO, will be presented by Dr Tedros as a historic commitment to advancing collective action and accelerating progress towards the SDGs.
This panel session is co-organized by the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria and Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance.
