2005: the next 10 years

The 11th annual WHO Health in Prisons Project (HIPP) conference was held on 17 October 2005 in London, United Kingdom, followed by the annual network meeting on 18 October. The main goals were to review the previous 10 years of developments in prison health, to give guidance for action throughout Europe for the next few years, and to renew and promote the collaborative framework and activities of the enlarged network of national counterparts for HIPP. The meeting was linked to the European Union Presidency of the United Kingdom, specifically under the strand on health inequalities. A meeting of the WHO task force on prisons and health followed the conference.
