Launch of World Health Organization’s flagship European Health Report: Press conference

What: The launch of the World Health Organization’s European Health Report, a flagship report published every 3 years, which tracks the significant trends in public health and adverse social behaviours that are inhibiting health and well-being across the WHO European Region, comprising 53 countries, reaching from the Atlantic to the Pacific.

The new report welcomes the rise in life expectancy and reduction in premature mortality from all causes that are being seen across the European Region, yet sounds a note of caution at the threats that continue to be posed by risky health behaviours and lifestyle choices, such as alcohol consumption, tobacco smoking, overweight and obesity.
