Primary care quality management in Uzbekistan, WHO/Europe 2007

This report summarizes the main results of the WHO Primary Care Quality Management Tool (PCQM Tool), which was implemented on a pilot basis in Uzbekistan in 2007. The PCQM Tool focuses on structures and mechanisms intended to control or manage the quality of staff and services in primary care. It examines the existing institutionalized mechanisms and practices in order to find out how Uzbekistan is making use of the available know-how and resources to improve the quality of (primary care) services. The Tool is not about quality of care itself, and therefore quality indicators do not play a prominent role.
