Ferenc Jakab

On the occasion of World TB Day, Zsuzsanna Jakab, WHO Regional Director for Europe, attended the 75th anniversary of Albert Szent-Györgyi’s Nobel prize award and presented the latest epidemiologic data and WHO/Europe’s response to the problem of TB and M/XDR-TB. In addition, the Regional Director co-chaired the session and facilitated discussion on consolidated action to prevent and control TB and M/XDR-TB. The event which was attended by many national and international experts including 9 Nobel Prize laurates was held in Szeged, Hungary on 24 March 2012.
