Kyrgyzstan

Several activities are being organized jointly by the national TB programme, UNDP, HOPE, Médecins Sans Frontières, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and the KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation, including:

• a press conference on the main national television channel in Bishkek and Osh (Southern part of Kyrgyzstan);
• audio programmes to raise public awareness, to be broadcast on the popular radio channels Evropa+, Kyrgyzstan Obondoru, Retro FM;
• a competition among the mass media, including, radio, television and Internet, to select the best paper devoted to TB;
• distribution of informational materials about MDR-TB;
• a talk-show on TB;
• publication of article and papers;
• news coverage about TB on 24 March.

WHO will be involved in the press conference, post a billboard on World TB Day next to the United Nations House and distribute WHO/Europe posters with "The Faces of TB" concept.
