Dr Andrei Maryandyshev
Dr Andrey Maryandyshev was born in 1958. He graduated from the Arkhangelsk State Medical Institution in the Russian Federation as a medical doctor in 1982.
Since 2000, he has been the head and professor of the department of Phthisiopulmonology of the Northern State Medical University in Arkhangelsk. He is the main TB specialist of the regional Ministry of Public Health in the Arkhangelsk region of the Russian Federation, where DOTS and DOTS+ TB programmes have been implemented successfully.
Since 2002, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies has invited him as the main consultant on the implementation of the DOTS and DOTS+ programmes in ten administrative districts of the Russian Federation: Pskov, Belgorod, Khabarovsk, Khakassia, Adygea, Jewish, Vologda, Kostroma, Kaluga and Nigniy Novgorod. He worked as an international expert on the evaluation of the DOTS and DOTS+ TB programmes in Estonia, Murmansk Oblast, Karelian Republic and St. Petersburg in the Russian Federation, Romania, The former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Turkmenistan and the “Fidelis’ IUATLD project in China.
He has published eleven articles in international magazines and thirty-eight in Russian scientific magazines.
