Dr Sergii Filippovych

Dr Sergii Filippovych was born in 1959. He received a Doctorate of Medicine in General Practice at Bogomolets National Medical University and a Masters in State Management in 2003 at the Academy of State Management under the President of Ukraine. He has more than 35 years of experience in health care, with 16 years of experience in the field of the civil society response to tuberculosis (TB) prevention and treatment, including work to increase access to drugs for multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) patients. His career includes professional activity within the Ministry of Health, the National AIDS Committee, and the International Charitable Foundation “Alliance for Public Health”. He has extensive experience of providing input and leadership to the development of treatment programmes, such as antiretroviral therapy and opiod substitution therapy, for the most-at-risk groups in Ukraine. Dr Filippovych plays an active role in the work of the TB Europe Coalition (TBEC) steering committee, in developing the strategic direction and overseeing the work of the TBEC Kiev Secretariat.
