Implementation of GATS in Europe

In the WHO European Region, 5 countries participated in GATS: Poland, Romania, the Russian Federation, Turkey and Ukraine. Turkey is the second country, globally, to repeat the GATS.

  • Turkey conducted GATS fieldwork in 2008 and 2012
  • The Russian Federation conducted GATS fieldwork in 2009
  • Both Poland and Ukraine conducted GATS fieldwork in 2009-2010
  • Romania conducted GATS fieldwork in 2011

Kazakhstan will be the sixth country in the Region to participate in GATS, and is scheduled to conduct its fieldwork and release the findings in 2014.
