National assessments

These two-page summaries include a synthesis country profile and an assessment of the country’s progress in preventing violence and injuries based on the effectiveness of interventions in place. The pillars of the analysis include national policies, the implementation of effective interventions, the impact of resolution EUR/RC55/R9 and next steps.

A set produced in 2009 covers over 45 Member States, updating and extending the 31 summaries released in 2008.

The assessments are based on WHO/Europe’s data and information and on responses to a WHO/Europe questionnaire gathering information on key elements of the European Council Recommendation of 31 May 2007 and of the WHO Regional Committee for Europe resolution EUR/RC55/R9.
