Country work
Work in countries is based on a close collaboration with the network of European national focal persons (NFPs) for violence and injury prevention. This network facilitates the exchange of relevant information and experiences across the Region, and helps strengthening the regional and national capacity to advocate for injury prevention, promote evidence-based preventive strategies and develop cross-sectoral partnerships.
The main objective of the network is to support the implementation of the Resolution adopted by the WHO Regional Committee for Europe in 2005 addressing priorities to reduce the burden from unintentional injuries and violence.
Activities are mostly based on agreements of collaboration between WHO/Europe and Ministries of Health, based on mutually recognized priorities. Additional work is done under the umbrella of international projects.
