Subregional public health institutional cooperation on hazardous chemicals

The main objective of this project (2017–2018), funded through the Strategic Approach to International Chemicals Management (SAICM) Quick Start Programme, is to strengthen subregional cooperation among public health institutions to build capacities and strengthen information exchange in Ukraine and Belarus. This will be achieved through creation of an expert network and scientific committee on health effects and a subregional information system for analysis and assessment of chemical contamination of the environment and its impact on population health.

Other actions considered in the framework of the project include creation of a web-based interinstitutional information platform to provide medical and public health advice, assistance and coordination of medical management at the subregional level on health effects of hazardous chemicals, and development of a plan of action to strengthen subregional cooperation.
